The Friday Afternoon Club was started with the recently qualified PPL in mind and has been so successful that it now includes the Saturday Brunch club and quite often a Wednesday afternoon club as well! After getting your licence it’s very important to keep flying so you don’t lose those recently acquired skills and fun to explore new destinations with a little help if needed. So, every Friday - weather permitting – David Coe CFI takes off from the Airfield with a string of pilots behind him and on Saturday Vinnie Sullivan takes charge of the Saturday Brunch club. Some pilots will have flown many sorties and some will be completely new. These trips are an excellent way of getting some hours under your belt with an Instructor close at hand if you need one. Recent destinations include, Canaervon, Leicester, Perranporth, Le Touquet, and Lydd. If you would like to join David on a Friday/Wednesday or Vinnie on a Saturday, please contact the Club on or before Friday morning so that we can organise planes and passengers appropriately.
Each year the Club also arranges a couple of longer overseas fly-outs. In June 2009 there was a trip to Northern Italy followed by a trip to Galway in Irelalnd. A total of eight aircraft went to Italy including two WLAC planes each with an Instructor. To find out where the next FAC or overseas destination is, ring operations on 01628 823272 or check the notice board. Every week an email is sent detailing the plans for the Friday and Saturday.

The Clubs meet every Friday at 13.00 hrs and 9.30am ish on a Saturday, and weather permitting will fly to a local airfield or sometimes further afield including the occassional overnight trip in both the UK and abroad. If the weather looks grim, then you can always enjoy a social afternoon in the clubhouse planning the next Friday trip.
